Meet Reverend Corrie (Gustafson) Montoya
I grew up in Ohio but in adulthood I’ve made homes in California, British Columbia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Hawaii, and now Florida. I currently serve as a chaplain at a large and vibrant retirement community. I married Dennis Montoya in February of 2020.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Westmont College and a Master of Divinity from Regent College. I am an ordained minister with the Evangelical Covenant Church.

I began my career working with young adults and college students. Since then I’ve had a bunch of ministry jobs, which include serving three very different congregations. I completed an internship and residency in Clinical Pastoral Education and have worked as a hospital, hospice, and school chaplain.

This blog is a series of reflections and explorations of God, family, faith, iconic moments, striking images, and cultural phenomena — all of which I carry close to me in a sort of metaphorical purse.
